Nick Krzeczowski who wears jersey No. 21 for our Beaver Area boys basketball team is a senior who many believe to be the team’s “X-Factor.”
Krzeczowski is a returning starter from his junior year where he also earned his first letterman award.
In the 2023-24 season Krzeczowski averaged 10.2 points per game (PPG), 6.5 rebounds (RPG), 3 assists (APG), and 2 steals (SPG) per game all while shooting the ball 41% from the field and a very solid 37% from the three-point line.
In totals Krzeczowski led the team with an even 150 rebounds and a total of 14 blocks on the year.
In Krzeczowski’s high school career his game has really evolved—especially between his sophomore and junior seasons. He went from being a full time JV player in the 2022-23 season to full time varsity and a starter the following year.
“All I did was dedicate my time in the gym and I worked on what had to be worked on. All I wanted to do was grind, and to this day I think there’s still more I could’ve done,” Krzeczowski said about his improvement.
In high school sports you learn so much, stuff that you can take with you for your whole life, and Krzeczowski has learned some important lessons.
“I’ve learned to stay strong even on bad days. You can’t be perfect in every game or practice or even good some days, but you always have to keep your mentally up and confidence up. That’s what high school basketball has taught me,” Krzeczowski reported.
Krzeczowski is considered the team's “X-Factor” because he brings everything to the floor for the Bobcats. Krzeczowski is a triple-threat scorer, has the ability to catch and shoot, beat you to the rim, and has the ability to hit a contested off the dribble jump shot.
At six feet two inches tall and 172 pounds Krzeczowski has great size and efficiency on rebounds, and his intensity and hustle on defense is game changing. Krzeczowski has the ability to do this game in and game out.
But it doesn’t come from just skill.
“Bringing that intensity every night isn’t about being easy, but the heart and fire in you to do it nightly,” Krzeczowski said.
Entering his last year of Bobcat basketball Krzeczowski has hopes of being able to play at the next level. He has been in touch with Saint Vincent University, a division III school. He also has plans to attend school to become a pilot.
Krzeczowski is a valuable piece of the Bobcat team, and ultimately he only has one thing that motivates him.
“All I want to do is to win,” Krzeczowski said.
