Beaver Area’s eager archers are back.
The archery team is ready to shoot again in their upcoming competition. Mark your calendars because February 12-13 the archers (hopefully) will bring home another win for the Bobcats.
The competition, the Portersville Christian School 6th Annual NASP Tournament, will be held in Portersville, about 30 minutes north of here. Due to COVID regulations, the competition will span two days and with capacity limits (shocker).
“With spectators the attendance at the competition triples,” explained junior Mason McCarty-Cogis. “It will definitely be different, but we are ready to start back up again.”
Beaver Area’s archers are scheduled for a Saturday afternoon flight time—while other schools shoot either Friday or earlier Saturday.
As usual, the dedicated archers practice every morning at 6 a.m. sharp under the guidance of Mr. Russ Sabo. The practices are running normally (or as normal as they can been with COVID) and the archers are more than ready to get back into the game.
“We have to wear masks, but we all expected that,” said McCarty-Cogis about the practices.
“The practices are the same,” stated senior Connor Stewart. “Except this year we get to count a week’s worth of our best shots in practice and count them toward our first competition score.”
All in all, the archers are ready to raise their bows once again February 13. Bring home the win archers, and good luck!
