Introducing the one, the only, Mina Barać!
Barać is currently a senior here at Beaver Area High School, and she has accomplished a multitude of activities including taking almost all of Beaver Area High School’s A.P. courses and making the high honor roll every quarter.
And its Barać well-rounded achievement that’s led to her attending Harvard University in the fall.
Barać recently learned of her acceptance into Harvard University—an incredible feat considering the school’s acceptance rate of fewer than 5 percent of applicants.
With her stellar grades, persistence, being the President of NHS (National Honors Society) on top of the incredible challenge of moving from Serbia to the US barely three years ago, she is the perfect candidate for America’s leading Ivy League institution.
“This has always been my dream school,” Barać confessed. “However, the reason I chose Harvard are the endless opportunities that are waiting for me.”
You can say her dreams do come true! With hard work, dedication, and believing in yourself, Barać is living proof.
Barać maintains an amazing attitude towards every challenge thrown her way. Harvard is another challenge that she is beyond delighted to overcome this fall.
Barać plans to major in chemistry and minor in mathematics.
“[Harvard is] located in a beautiful city,” Barać explained referring to the school’s location in Cambridge, Massachusetts near Boston. “I have friends there as well, so moving won’t be as difficult.”
That’s not the only reason Barać chose Harvard.
“I like that Harvard is a collaborative school, not competitive,” Barać stated. “My main goal for the next four years is to take every single opportunity that comes my way!”
Barać is excited to start her newfound journey at Harvard! This summer she will be making the move to her new campus. Barać also plans to meet with Serbian Harvard alumni which she is very excited about!
Overall, Barać will attend Harvard University flying Beaver Area High School’s colors: maroon and grey—and not just Harvard crimson. Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat. Good luck at Harvard; you inspire us all!
