Do you want to escape reality? Here is your chance. Book club is officially starting today! They invite any 9-12 high schoolers to join!
The book club This year will consist of picking themes or genres for each month. The club will commence in the library to pick a said theme today after school.
The proposed reading schedule is, in fact, to have half of the book read by the middle of the month so students can talk about what will happen next in the book and the “what-if” aspects. In another two weeks at the end of the month, the book club will meet in the library to pick another theme and to, of course, discuss what happened at the end of the book.
No money is needed to attend book club! Anyone is able to come down to the library to join book club. There might be a little treat involved too! Who knows?
“I honestly can’t wait to bond with others about books!” exclaims junior Mina Barać, “I also can’t wait to see what themes we will be doing every month.”
Don’t have a book? Don’t worry! See Mrs. Erin Bechdel our librarian. She will help guide you to the right book that not only fits the theme but also interests you.
“We have been trying to create a book club for teachers for years,” said Mrs. Bechdel, “so I’m very excited to see where this book club leads.”
Come on down to the library after school to be part of book club this school year. We hope to see you there!
