The Beaver Area Bobcats 2021-2022 hockey season has been tough—with only one win, the team sits at 1-14.
The Bobcats’ coaches, Bryan Vongray and Robert Dappenbrook, have been trying very hard to help their team get back on track (or on the ice as the case may be) this season, and it seemed to show in their game against Plum Senior High School January 20 at home.
“It was a good win; we won in a shootout and our star player Tanner Nicol secured the win for us,” said sophomore Ben Balitski.
The team seemed to be rightly proud of their win against Plum High School. They won the game 2-1.
The team is trying very hard this year to win more games, so the game against Plum was very rewarding for them, and it was well deserved.
Their last game that was played Thursday night (January 27) ended in a 3-0 loss against Freeport Area High School.
The team seems to be playing more independently than together, and from what the players have been saying, if they played together as a team, they would have more success in winning their games.
“We need to improve our team play and passing. If we all played as one we would win a lot more of our games,” suggested Balitski.
The Bobcats’ next game is against Blackhawk High School at the Brady’s Run Ice Arena February 3. Make sure to support your hockey team so they can bring home another win! Face-off is at 8:10 p.m.
