Have you ever wanted to experience an exclusive VIP premium without the high costs? Well now you can.
Cinemark’s Secret Movie Series introduces early viewings for unreleased Hollywood movies at only $5 a ticket.
Early access to unreleased movies is usually “an industry perk, or the sort of thing you might win access to via a contest,” but Cinemark is doing it for anyone willing to shell out $5.
The catch? You don’t know what movie you are seeing until the opening credits roll.
According to Cinemark: “the Secret Movie Series is entirely first-run movies, and every selection will be presented prior to its wide release date.”
But don’t worry—Cinemark has aired movies from Sting (Horror/Thriller) to The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (Action/War) to Fly Me to the Moon (Comedy/Romance), so there is a variety of genres from a variety of studios being played in theaters.
Furthermore, Secret Movie Series ratings range from PG-13 to rated R, so there is also a wide array of audiences who can enjoy Secret Movie nights.
There is a new Secret Movie screening “roughly once a month,” according to Cinemark, and they always land on a Monday. Starting at 7 p.m., it’s an entirely “one day, one showtime affair,” so don’t miss it.
Interested in seeing one of these secret movies for yourself? Well you’re in luck. The next showing is after school today, November 18, at 7 p.m. at the Cinemark in Monaca.
This month’s Secret Movie is rated R, and some have speculated it to be Queer or The End, among others.
Senior Isaac Valenzuela went to the September 9 showing, stating that “It was fun, and for $5 it was totally worth it.”
If you’ve got an extra $5 burning a hole in your pocket—consider coming to the screening tonight, maybe you’ll see some familiar faces.
And don’t worry if you can’t make it to tonight’s screening, there’s always another time. In fact, there are three more screenings projected for 2024—November 25, December 9, and December 16. Check the Cinemark web site for other dates.
