I believe I speak for everyone when I say, I’m tired of this.
Ladies and gentleman, the Coronavirus has literally taken the entire world by storm. We miss our friends, we’re sick of our parents, and some people are going as far as saying that they miss school.
However, we can help. By just taking a few simple precautions, we can slow the spread of this virus.
First and foremost, be sure to wash your hands constantly throughout the day.
“Take heart that while you're scrubbing, you're also killing off a host of other nasty bacteria and potentially lethal viruses that have plagued humans for centuries, including influenza and a number of different coronaviruses,” says CNN Medical Producer Sandee LaMotte.
Another simple precaution to take would be to avoid touching your face as much as possible.
“As communities prepare for the spread of coronavirus around the globe, the primary advice from health officials is for people to wash their hands. But a number of health researchers say the public health message also should include a more forceful warning about face touching,” writes New York Times journalist and founding editor of the Times's award-winning consumer health site, Tara Parker-Pope.
Another precaution you should take is to not leave your house unless it is absolutely necessary.
“Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick,” explains the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Finally, if it is absolutely necessary for you to leave your house, wear a mask.
“CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies), especially in areas of significant community-based transmission,” explains the CDC.
Although these precautions may seem as if they’re insignificant and won’t help, taking these precautions will help slow the spread of the Coronavirus, and we’ll be able to leave our houses, see our friends, and escape our parents as soon as possible.
