So what's up with the Beaver Dam interviews?
A new addition to the ever growing trend of school activity related Instagram pages, the Beaver Dam (Beaver Area’s athletic event student section) has joined the mix!
Run by Dam leaders seniors Samantha Gonzales and Ava Sutter, the page is responsible for letting the student body know the themes, activities, and special events that will take place during the weekly Friday night football games.
Beyond the helpful (but average) information the page has, a new and exciting addition to the student section has emerged from the Beaver Dam ‘gram: student interviews!
Every week, Sutter and Gonzales come up with questions to ask the students during half-time. Then, they go around the student section and record students’ answers with a mini microphone. After editing the video, they upload it to the Dam’s page (with everyone who makes an appearance in the video tagged of course)!
The questions have varied from “who’s your favorite player and their position?” to “what’s the final score going to be?” at the Beaver vs. Hopewell game.
This new collaborative addition to the student section is positive and promotes camaraderie throughout the student section. And the students seem to agree.
Senior Tessica Ho said, “I think [the videos] are cute and provide a sense of liveliness to the Dam!”
But Ho isn’t the only one who loves the interviews—with an average of 3,000 views per interview, others must enjoy them just as much.
So, be sure to tune in and keep an eye out for the next interview. And who knows, maybe you’ll make a feature!
