The Beaver Area girls tennis team took on chocolate making . . . oh, and some tennis.
October 28 the girls left on their four-hour road trip to Hershey for the quarterfinals of the PIAA tennis championship.
While in Hershey the girls toured Hershey’s Chocolate World. The team also had the opportunity to make their own chocolate bars. When the girls weren’t being chocolatiers or playing tennis, they spent the rest of their time playing different card games and team bonding.
“This was one of my favorite tennis memories ever,” shared junior Ella Peluso.
After their fun-filled day at the Hershey’s Chocolate Factory, it was time to play.
October 29 the girls matched-up against the Conrad Weiser High School Scouts from Robesonia in Berks County.
Going into the match, the girls knew the competition would be tough. Despite their tremendous efforts, the girls fell to Scouts 4-1.
The girls’ second-doubles team, senior Delaney Young and sophomore Elle Taylor, brought home the only match win for the Bobcats.
Spirits remained upbeat after the loss. The girls knew that making it to the state-level playoffs was a victory all its own.
“I think we had a really talented group of girls this year! Despite our loss, I think we came a long way from the beginning of the season,” said junior Lily Pruszenski.
Congratulations on a great season! See you next fall!
