The Beaver Area Bobcat Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA) traveled to Kalahari indoor/outdoor water park in the Poconos for a conference November 3-4.
Our chapter of the club is sponsored by business teacher Mrs. Lori Guandolo. Students signed up to go on the trip through Mrs. Guandolo. It cost students $142 to attend, including a hotel room, the conference, and transportation to Kalahari. Nine Beaver Area students attended.
While at the conference the students had to attend the opening and closing ceremonies then 7 of the 8 of the conference sessions over the weekend; each conference session averaged about 45 minutes.
Each different conference session helped students develop skills about how to become a better leader. The speakers gave tips and ticks as well as steps on how to achieve their goals of being future leaders and how to get themselves to that point.
“It went super well, and I was excited that more people came this year! It has been Mrs. Guandolo and me attending all FBLA conferences, but it’s so nice to see some new faces,” said senior PA FBLA Treasurer, National Treasurer’s Executive Assistant, and Chapter President senior Cindy Liu.
“It was overall a good experience. It really showed me what I could do in the future to help others around me to make their lives better,” said junior Lanie French.
The next FBLA conference will be in December; the date is to be determined.
