Get in tune: Tri-M is holding an instrument drive!
Senior Evan Linkimer posed the idea of the instrument drive to help raise awareness and to help give back to children in need of an instrument.
The drive will be looking for any instrument that is in relatively good condition which includes band, orchestra, or woodwind instruments.
So, have an instrument collecting dust in your attic? Bring it to the band or choir room to help the Tri-M. All the instruments will be going to the Hungry for Music organization for children in need of an instrument.
Any instrument will do as long as the instrument is gently used and still playable. Flute, saxophone, trumpet—you name it!
“We have gotten a few instruments so far,” said Tri-M president Linkimer. “Someone brought in a guitar and a piano to give to charity.”
What if you don’t have an instrument? No worries. Money is also accepted as donations which will go to the Hungry for Music organization.
Tri-M members also are selling bracelets which have “Hungry for Music” imprinted on them.
The bracelets cost $1 and come in a variety of colors varying from purple to blue to gray to pink. You can pick your favorite color!
The bracelets will be sold at lunch, during concerts, and at the musical this March by any of the current Tri-M members. The money allows the Hungry for Music charity help children around the world who want to pursue music.
What are you waiting for? Donate an instrument today and while you’re at it buy a bracelet.
