Ever wondered what those kids in the art room have been doing all year? During Beaver Area's annual Art Show we got to see exactly what they've been working so hard on.
As with previous recent art shows, there was a set theme. This year's theme was the Cinema. Popcorn was available to all visitors as they enjoyed sights of popcorn buckets, cardboard cutouts from classic films such as Jaws and Superbad, as well as all the art pieces created by each art class our school has to offer.
“[Set-up] was a tedious process, but at the end all the hard work was worth it," said Art Club treasurer junior Kayla Head on the process of setting up the event.
As visitors entered the auditorium lobby for the show, they were greeted by multiple tables set up by the the AP art students. The students were tasked with creating a full body of work for their final project, and their pieces were displayed separately from each other.
Along with these setups, multiple students sold prints of their pieces as well as other crafts.
Seniors Clover York, Tess Foster, Reese Lindemann and Head were four of the AP art students who sold jewelry, stickers, and even pottery along with prints of their pieces.
Vendor booths weren't just for the AP art kids at this event. Senior Klayton Kaunert sold his hand-crafted pens while junior Jasper Wells sold hand-crocheted hats.
The event was also host to several food trucks that gave the visitors much more than art to enjoy. Ambridge Italian Villa, The Big Sno, and Red Eye Rosie's gave visitors a reason to arrive with empty stomachs to the show.
Overall, in the aftermath of the show, the art students felt a tremendous sense of pride in their work.
Junior Noah Miser said of the end result, "there were some things we could have done a bit better, but overall I think it was really successful."
