The Beaver Area Bobcats cross country team has improved extremely this year after seeing the girls team place second in statewide competition.
“I think that the team has improved extremely this year,” stated sophomore runner Cannon Hoback. “Everyone has a new personal record, and we all race together as a team very well.”
Hoback placed fourth in the Beaver, Ambridge, West Allegany meet this past week, and the girls team placed second in the Pre-States at Hershey.
“Hershey was great! After our girls team placed second in the state, I feel like our bond as a team got even stronger,” said Isabella Meadows. “We have all improved our times greatly. Our top seven girls are all under 23 minutes [per 3.1 miles] which is a huge achievement, because last year our girls’ times were all over the board.”
The runners are very proud of themselves and each other by improving day by day.
“I am very proud of our boys team for always sticking together in races and improving all together,” said Hoback. “I am also very proud of the girls for their second place win in Pre-States and how they have all improved greatly as well.”
