The Bobcats tennis team expects a grand slam of a season.
The Bobcats are led by three seniors: Zane Atkins, Andrew Cavett, and Matthew Eckert.
This year the Bobcats are skippered by first-year head coach Nate Heidengren. Heidengren previously played tennis at Geneva College before becoming Beaver Area’s coach.
“Our goals is to be better at the end of the season than we were at the beginning of the season. Our second goal is to make the WPIAL team playoffs. Lastly, our third goal is to make states in singles or doubles,” said Coach Heidengren.
The Bobcats toughest opponents will be Seneca Valley and Central Valley.
The Bobcats have played one match so far this season that they lost to Seneca Valley March 14. The Bobcats first two home matches will be March 22 against Riverside followed by Quaker Valley March 24 with both matches starting at 3:30.
“I like our team this year, and think we can get better as the season goes on,” said sophomore Zack Masters.
