All hail!
After lots of hard work and planning another year of Mr. Beaver High was a huge success. This year’s winner was senior Nick Palombo; his talent was playing “Bohemian Rhapsody” on the piano and electrified kazoo.
“It was so much fun to participate in, especially with the great group of guys we had. I’m so happy I won, but I’m more so glad that the electric kazoo actually worked,” said Palombo.
The runners-up this year were juniors Brady Hansen and Ethan Gengrella who performed a comedy act modeled on the viral video “How Animals Eat Their Food.”
“I thought the competition was overall decent; Brady and I had a blast doing it so it’ll for sure be a re-do next year for me personally,” said Gengrella.
The evening’s opening dance beautifully performed by the boys was choreographed by senior Bailey O’Leary.
“Working with the contestants was a lot of fun; the guys worked really hard to learn and perfect the dance and in the end all their hard work paid off,” said O’Leary.
If you missed this beloved fundraiser in the auditorium February 20 be sure to watch Mr. Beaver High on WEKOChannel5 YouTube. Junior Hannah Buzza filmed and edited the video.
This year’s amazing judges were chemistry teacher Mrs. Ledea Obrist, local youth pastor Mr. Andrew DiNardo, assistant principal Mr. BJ Grinage, and hall monitor Mr. Lucas Potupac.
“It was very entertaining and I enjoyed watching the interesting talents,” exclaimed Mrs. Obrist.
This year the junior class was able to raise $1500 from the fundraiser. The money helps to cover prom expenses.
“Mrs. Guandolo and her class were angels to help us out. The contestants, prom committee, and junior class officers worked really hard to make Mr. Beaver High a success. The boys were just absolutely amazing, and a huge thank you to Bailey O’Leary for doing the choreography,” said junior class sponsor Mrs. Jody Shugert who oversaw the event.
