The students in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) recently traveled to the State Leadership Conference in Hershey. They prepared their presentations to get ready for this event. The students were accompanied by advisor Mrs. Lori Guandolo.
The trip started April 16 and concluded April 19. Upon arrival, students got to participate in fun activities around Hershey including going to Chocolate World, karaoke, and a game night.
On the first day of the conference, the FBLA students presented the things they have done all year. President Gary Liu presented the local chapter’s annual business report which showed everything done in FBLA this school year, and he presented for graphic design.
Sophomore Elizabeth Paskey and senior Payton Cutshall (FBLA vice president) presented about sales. Junior Cannon Hoback presented for website design and community service with sophomore Avery Cutshall.
Aleena Schoenberger presented about American Enterprise, which details the stock market. Lastly, junior Riley Bednar and Avery Cutshall presented about social media strategies.
Though he FBLA students perfected each and every presentation prior to the big event, only Liu got to present the second day.
Although the presentations continued throughout the day, the students were recognized for their hard work and skills. Liu and Payton Cutshall were recognized for achieving all levels of the Business Achievement Awards: Contributor, Leader, Advocate, and Capstone. For both seniors, this was a very important accomplishment.
Hoback placed 9th in the state for Website Design.
Liu also won countless awards including 1st Place in FBLA Policies & Procedures, 2nd Place in FBLA Creed/Code of Ethics/Pledge, and 2nd Place in Public Relations.
After all the business was taken care of, students got to enjoy Hershey. They attended events at the hotel and got to enjoy fun games.
The hardworking students were back in school April 20 feeling accomplished and proud.
Congratulations to all the FBLA members who participated in this conference!
