Some of Beaver Area’s leaders have joined together for Ms. Victoria Abbondanza’s new Leadership Group and are using their leadership skills to make a change.
Over a course of six weeks, the Leadership Group met once or twice a week to learn helpful leadership skills as well as plan a fundraiser for an organization that they chose.
Some skills learned over the past few weeks have been conflict resolution, communication, teamwork, marketing, and planning. Additionally, they learned strategies to apply to their own meetings like fun icebreakers and technology like Jamboard.
The main goal of Leadership Group was to organize a fundraiser for a charity, and they did just that.
After voting on organizations, the group decided to focus on local organizations which further narrowed their search down to the local Humane Society chapter in Center Township.
The next dilemma for the Leadership Group was figuring out how to fundraise. Ideas were thrown around, but ultimately they decided on raising money through local restaurants’ fundraisers.
The restaurants are all located in Center Township including Primanti’s, Applebee’s, and Panera.
As of now, the Primanti’s and Panera fundraisers have been scheduled with dates and times, so be on the lookout for more information on Applebee’s soon!
As far as Primanti’s goes, the fundraiser will take place May 11 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with 20 percent of proceeds going to the Humane Society.
For Panera, the fundraiser will be May 13 from 8 a.m to 8 p.m.
To get the fundraiser to work, YOU MUST show the attached flyer to your server when eating at the restaurant.
If you’re ordering Primanti’s online, use the code DINE2DONATE at the scheduled time and the proceeds will go to the Humane Society.
