As many of us know, downtown Beaver is home to many delicious eateries—from sushi at Yama, Latin food at Biba, to fresh baked kolaches at Café Kolache, the options are legion.
One thing these offerings all have in common is that they have a storefront right on Third Street which allows for plenty of foot traffic. Well, Ladybird’s Luncheonette is located on Third Street too, but it’s on the second floor (so it’s easy to miss) which often leads people to be unaware that Ladybird’s is even there!
The owner of Ladybird’s Luncheonette, Jade Cageao, started her business in 2019 as the owner of Sweet Caroline’s ice cream shop in Ellwood City. In August 2020, she rebranded and remodeled her store completely to what we know today as Ladybird’s. Shortly after the opening of Ladybird’s in Ellwood City, Cageao also opened the current store in Beaver; however, the Beaver business was only open for private events. Luckily for Beaver folks, Ladybird’s permanently relocated to its Beaver location full time back in March 2022! (Sorry Ellwood City.)
Ladybird’s is located above the yoga studio and beside the police station. When you climb the two flights of stairs into their luncheonette, the smell of freshly baked bread invites you in. Caution: your mouth may start watering as you read through the menu.
Ladybird’s offers homemade soups, hand pies, salads, cookies, rolls, galettes, brownies, spritzers, fresh cold-pressed juice, and smoothies. How can you even make a decision?
If you're looking for a comforting, flavorful, lickin’ your plate kind of meal, Ladybird’s will do the job. Their menu changes its items often, so it’s exciting to see what new item will be at the luncheonette. (Currently, I am obsessed with their ginger molasses lime frosted cookie—trust me: it will blow your mind.)
At first, Ladybird’s Luncheonette can be easy to miss, but once you’ve been there, it’ll be hard to resist.
