Our girls cross country team headed to Hershey the weekend of November 4 to compete at the State Championships. The excitement and anticipation was high for this season-defining moment.
The girl cross country team finished fourth place in the state, earning 120 points which was only 9 points out of first place.
At the State meet, our long distance Bobcats were led by senior Ella Andrew who finished with a 14th place individual score.
Andrew stated, “Our team came a long way this year practicing since June. My freshman year I never would have thought that we could place fourth as a team, and I never would’ve thought I would place at states.”
Andrew has been the top runner for the girls all year, so congratulations to her for finishing so strong.
Sophomore Danica Purtell said, “States was so much fun! It’s a really cool experience, and the race day vibes are just unbeatable. I’m so thankful to be on a team with such hard working girls that make it possible for us to have that opportunity.”
This accomplishment is historic for our cross country team as they are the first in Beaver Area history to finish this high as a team.
We are so proud of these runners and their incredible season!
