It’s over . . .
The 2022 Beaver Area Bobcats football season has come to a end.
After the heartbreaking loss in the second round of the WPIAL playoffs the Beaver Area Bobcats are done.
The Bobcats faced the Avonworth Antelopes November 11 where they fell short 28-7 losing in the second round of the WPIAL playoffs.
The lone scorer for the Bobcats was senior Liam Gibson on a 75 yard rushing touchdown along with the extra point made by junior Evan Baker.
“A hard-fought season ended short,” summarized sophomore Amari Jackson on this season’s ending.
On top of the heartbreaking loss the Bobcats will lose 19 seniors along with their five captains: Omari Smith, Gibson, Dylan Porto, Noah Reagan, Isaac Pupi.
The other seniors hanging up their Bobcat jerseys are Cameron Holt, Jack Korman, Sam Pidro, Caleb Healy, Gerrell Leeper, Josiah Santiago, Stephen Handlow, Cade Patterson, Luke “Bubba” Thompson, Nick Little, Frankie Chirico, Nick Little, Matthew Eckert, and John Demacio.
This many graduating seniors is a big loss for the team, but with talented underclassmen filling the roles Head Coach Cort Rowse remains confident in his Bobcats in the upcoming 2023 season.
“A hard-fought season ended not how we wanted it to, but I’m extremely proud of my boys and what they did. I’m going to miss these seniors. but I’m ready for the 2023 season,” said Coach Rowse.
“This season was great and made a bond with my teammates I can now call my family,” said Gibson when reflecting on this season.
Smith echoed those sentiments: “To me I think this the football season went great; even though it didn’t end how we wanted it to, I still had a great last season with my brothers.”
