The Bobcat Area Hockey team is still waiting for their second victory but remain optimistic about the rest of the season. The effort level is still there and keeps growing every game in hopes of finally getting that second win.
Bobcat hockey faced North Catholic for the second time this season October 22, but fell with a final score of 6-0. Freshman goaltender Dominic Amthor faced a total of 40 shots that game.
Having the seniors Connor Hartman, Hayden Vongray, and Khaleil Laracuente is a big help for the team. They are all great role models who motivate the team to keep working hard despite the challenges.
“We keep working hard in our practices so hopefully we will get our second win soon!” stated Vongray.
With a losing record of 1-6 it is hard for any team to keep the effort level up and give every game everything they have, but these Bobcat players don't stop trying.
In the Bobcats’ game against Kiski November 12, the team suffered a devastating loss of 10-0.
“Kiski was a tough game because we were missing a few players but we made it work as best as we could,” said sophomore John Dioguardi.
Every game the team improves; it might not be shown on the scoreboard, but the coaches and teammates are noticing a difference since the beginning of the season.
The Bobcats’ next home game will be at Brady’s Run Ice Arena November 21 at 6:45 p.m. against Freeport; make sure you come out and support the team—and keep your stick on the ice!
