It's powder puff season! This year’s fund-raising games among the classes of ‘25, ‘24, ‘23, and ‘22 were filled with entertainment and fun.
Games were played November 6 at Gypsy Glen Stadium as a junior class fundraiser.
The first game played was between the classes of ‘25 and ‘22 (freshmen and seniors). The freshmen won the game 28-21, so they proceeded to the next round.
The next game was played between the sophomores and juniors. The sophomores tried very hard, but sadly lost the game 35-0. But the loss didn’t bring down their spirits.
“I had a lot of fun trying out powder puff this year, especially because I didn’t get to do it my freshman year because of COVID,” said sophomore Katie Reap.
The final game was played between the two winners, the freshmen and the juniors. The juniors stayed undefeated with a 28-14 win.
“I really enjoyed going to practices and learning how to play football. It was such a fun day to play against all of the grades,” said junior Kat Eck.
The all-female teams were coached by boys from the football team.
Even though the sophomores didn’t have the turnout that they would’ve hoped, they were still positive and cheerful while watching the other games take place.
“The experience of doing powder puff was so fun because we all got to come together and practice and mess around while also learning how to play football. But the part that was the most fun was when we got to play against the other grades and see how they competed compared to us,” said sophomore Maddie Piontek.
