The Beaver Area Bobcats hockey team is looking to start the season off on a good note after finishing last season with a 1-19 record.
The Bobcats lone win came against Plum in a game that went to a shootout and saw the Bobcats come out on top 2-1.
“Our goals this year are to develop our skills more and win more games than last year,” said junior Brayden Dawson.
It’s been tough for the Bobcats to succeed in recent years due to the lack of players and tough competition such as North Hills, McDowell, North Catholic, and Moon.
The Bobcats haven’t been off to the best start this season as they currently have a 1-7 record. Their only win so far was against Wheeling Park High School November 17 when they won 3-1.
“We are in a rebuilding period, and hopefully we can turn things around soon and try to get a few more wins under our belt by the end of the season,” said team caption and senior Michael DelSignore.
The Bobcats next two home games will be against North Hills High School December 8 and Blackhawk High School January 12. Puck drop for both games is 8:50 p.m. at the Brady’s Run Ice Arena.
