Under long-time Beaver Area tennis Head Coach Riley Baker, the boys tennis team plans to bring their best serves to the courts. After ending last season’s section play 5-3 and suffering a tough loss in the first round of playoffs, the Bobcats return to the courts ready to play—and have fun the process.
What are you most looking forward to this season?
“Personally, I’m excited to get to know the whole team better and work on getting better at the sport as well,” shared senior Nate Grundberg.
Who are the player(s) your competition should be looking out for this season?
“Our competition better watch out for [senior] Ryan Kenney. They’ve got no shot against him,” boasted Grundberg.
Who will be your toughest competition this season?
Grundberg had no comment on the team’s toughest competition this season. Although two of last season’s three losses came from Central Valley High School, so the Warriors could, again, be tough matches for the Bobcats.
Does your team have any rituals or traditions you can share?
“The team doesn’t have any rituals or pre-match traditions that I know of so far,” admitted Grundberg.
When is your first section game? (Date, time, location)
“Our first match is March 21 [today] home against Mars High School. The match starts at 3:30 p.m.,” said Grundberg.
