The Beaver Area Bobcats football team clinched their first win of the regular season— sadly it was too little too late.
The team took on the Ambridge Bridgers October 5. The Bobcats stepped up their game for homecoming weekend. They stood their ground and only allowed the Bridgers to score once, ending with a sweet 20-7 victory.
The boys took on the Quaker Valley Quakers in another home matchup October 11. Sadly, the boys suffered an unfortunate 30-20 loss.
The team was back on the road travelling to Montour High School October 18 for their last away game of the season. They played a tough game but unfortunately lost 46-7.
Despite the drubbing on the scoreboard, there were some bright spots.
“We had the game in the beginning then we let it slip through our fingers in the second half,” said junior Brady Hansen.
Closer to home, the Bobcats took on the Blackhawk Cougars October 25 as the season closer. The game was played on the Bobcats’ home turf, but it didn’t go the Bobcats’ way. It ended in a troubling 38-12 loss.
“It was a rough time knowing that it was our last game, but we just went out and left it all on the field,” said senior lineman Dante Castagna.
At the end of the 2019-2020 football season the Bobcats are seventh in section. And while the team loses 12 senior they still have high hopes for the 2020 season.
Here’s hoping for some more W’s next season.
