Beaver Area Bobcat hockey is still working on their second win but aren’t letting that stop them from skating their hardest!
In the face off between Beaver Hockey and North Hills December 12 it was a close game but sadly the Bobcats fell behind losing 5-2. The goals were scored by sophomore center John Dioguardi and freshman right wing Michael Del Signore.
“Even though we lost it was still very exciting scoring my first goal on the varsity team! We have only won a single game so far, but I have high hopes that we can secure a few more,” stated Del Signore.
January 6 the Bobcats went against Greensburg Salem; it was a tough game but they didn’t give up. Greensburg Salem was up 6-0 with less than a minute left in the game when sophomore center Andreas Portugallo put one in the net making the final score 6-1 and saving the Cats from a goose egg.
Bobcat Hockey went up against Fox Chapel January 9 losing 8-2. Goals were scored by Portugallo and junior left wing Austin McElwain.
“Personally, I think the team has some overall room to improve in a lot of different aspects, especially on defense. But if we turn it around there are some possibilities to win and maybe even win the WPIAL,” exclaimed Portugallo.
The Bobcats’ next home game will be at Brady’s Run Ice Arena January 16 at 6:45 p.m. against Indiana; make sure you come out and support the team!
