Twas the night before winter break,

and all through the school

Not a teacher in sight,

not even Juul Patrol.

No CHK games or WEKO movies to watch.

No decoration in sight, not even a splotch.

The school was locked and all cleaned with care,

With hope that ‘Rona never would be there.

Then to my eye I saw someone sneak in with a task.

It was the Grinch—entering without a mask!

Why Mr. Grinch, oh why, I must ask.

He said to me, “Child, well there, you see...

I came to fix some lights, not one, not two, but three.”

I told him, he can’t enter, not now not today,

We need school to be safe, so please stay far, far away.

Keep your six feet and we all will be well.

A COVID-free Christmas, and we all would be swell.

At the top of our lists are vacations without masks.

When will this happen, everyone now asks.

Santa, oh Santa, could you make this all true?

We all want this, even me, even you.

May everyone be safe and healthy that's right.
