Cross country just keeps moving right along with their season.
Tournament season finally began with the pre-state meet at Hershey September 21 where the boys placed 7 in AA, while the girls placed 14.
The team returned for their only home meet of the season beating Central Valley but losing to Moon September 24.
Finally, the team began October with a meet away against Montour, beating Ambridge and losing to Montour.
While the boys' team certainly had a consistent record, some players are nowhere near satisfied with their performance.
"For the guys, it’s not by definition a bad season, but we’re nowhere near where I wanted, thought, or hoped we’d be," said junior William Lamb.
The girls are slightly more optimistic in their chances.
Junior Sydney Monit said, "We're getting faster as the meets go on and our workouts are starting to get harder, which is making us faster runners."
Tournaments like WPIALs and states are fast approaching as well, and everyone is already weighing their odds.
"I think some guys may pull off making it to states, but due to the limited amount girls I think that some may qualify for states, but not the entire team," cautioned Monit.
