Internet slang has changed since September when I last wrote some of the latest terms used popularly on Twitter. Today, I update the list . . .
“Beat” — Used when someone doesn’t like something or the idea of something
“What do you think of their new song?”
“It’s so beat.”
“Slaps” — Used when someone strongly likes something
“This pasta slaps when it’s hot.”
“Moves” — Used when referring to plans or what someone is doing
“What’s moves for tonight?”
“Let’s see a movie.”
“Definitely not moves for the night.”
“In my/your bag” — Used typically when someone looks good; can be used ironically
“You’re out here in your bag in that Supreme shirt.”
“Thanks, man, it was only $324.”
“Facts” — Used when someone agrees with someone else
“International Studies is clearly more interesting than Geometry.”
“Yeah, facts.”
“Imagine” — Used ironically, usually saying you wish things would happen that normally would
“Imagine if I could ever bring myself to do my homework.”
“I’m soft” — Describing a feeling of wanting to be loving or affectionate
“He is so cute; I’m so soft right now.”
“It’s wraps” — Used when someone is saying something is over or done, usually in a negative manner
“How’s that paper coming along?”
“It’s wraps.”
“Some of y’all __ and it shows” — Used when talking about something “privileged” people usually had that some wouldn’t, usually used as a joke
“Some of y’all never failed your driver’s license test more than once and it shows.”
Some of y’all had no idea what any of this meant and it really showed. Now that you know, you can stop being so beat and work on being in your bag. Hopefully this story was just facts since it’s wraps.
