There wasn’t much holiday time off for the wrestling Bobcats.
The wrestling team traveled to West Mifflin for the West Mifflin Tournament over break. This tournament took place December 27-28 starting at 8 a.m.
Compared to previous tournaments the boys did quite well. Sophomore Brady Earhart and junior John Hall both took second, senior George Peroni took fifth, and sophomore Mark Ramer took eighth.
This is the most wrestlers the team has had place all season!
Peroni said, “This was a great tournament, and I look forward to the matches to come.”
That positive energy carried the team into their first match of the new year as January 2 the boys took on Central Valley and won 48-21. Peroni pinned his opponent earning six points for the team.
Senior Justin Dudek, junior Collin Shulte, sophomore Brooks Miller, junior Caleb Duncan, and freshmen Jack Ferguson, Allen Thomas, and Ramer all won by forfeits gaining six points for their team as well.
Junior Alec Coulter, senior Dom Reagan, and Earhart all sat to save their energy as part of their plan for the MAC Tournament January 4 at Freedom High School.
“It looks like we are going to do great at MAC’s, and we are hoping to place top-five. We are all really excited to go,” said Coulter.
