It’s finally the most wonderful time of year. But how can you spread the holiday cheer around Beaver Area High School?
With the Holiday Card Contest of course!
This year, the school district is holding a Holiday Card Contest. Students will make a school appropriate holiday design (that must include some kind of Beaver Area motif) and submit it to Ms. Larissa Mallon by November 22.
The winner will get their design distributed on the District’s 2024 holiday card and be recognized in front of the School Board at their December 3 meeting.
Some of the guidelines are that there can be only one entry per person, it must be no larger than standard letter paper (8.5 x 11 inches), and it must include Beaver Area’s colors, mascot, or logo.
The artwork itself should not have any text, and the design can be created with any mediums desired—except for AI. The accepted formats are PDF, TIFF, or JPEG, and if a digital work is too low resolution it will not be considered.
The contest open to any student K-12 (so there is a possibility of being beaten by a 6 year old).
The artwork can be submitted via email to Ms. Larissa Mallon at mallonl@basd.k12.pa.us or handed into the main office. Each entry should include the artist’s name, grade, phone number, and email address on the back of the artwork or in the email submission.
The absolute deadline for entries is November 22 at 4 p.m. at the latest.
Also, be sure to save your original artwork until the winners are chosen.
The winning entry will be announced by November 26. The BASD superintendent, Dr. Sean Aiken, will select the winners.
This contest is a great opportunity for students who are interested in design to get their work out there. So if you have an affinity for the holidays and Beaver Area motifs, enter the Holiday Card contest.
