It isn’t easy to say something positive about a team which hasn’t scored in the past two games and got scored on a total of 13 times; however, that is how the team improves and builds off their mistakes.
Every Sunday from 7:55 to 9:15 p.m. the Bobcat Hockey team takes the ice for practice at Brady's Run Ice Arena. The team works hard and gives their best effort at practice to work towards improving their team unity and skills. They also try to do weight training at the Beaver Area High School weight room once a week to work on getting stronger.
After another loss to North Catholic 7-0 October 22 Bobcat hockey is still keeping their heads held high even with the losing record 1-3.
“On the scoreboard this game was a bad loss; we played really well during the first two periods. Throughout the third the team started getting tired and that’s when we started to struggle,” said sophomore center Andreas Portugallo.
When the Bobcats went against the South Point Eagles October 31 they were missing some key players due to injury or travel: senior defenseman Connor Hartman, Portugallo, and sophomore center John Dioguardi. Senior right wing Khaleil Laracuente arrived late coming in during the second period.
After a long and tough battle against the Eagles, sadly the Bobcats fell with a final score of 6-0 finishing with only eight shots on goal compared to the Eagles who had 67.
The Bobcats’ next home game will be at Brady’s Run Ice Arena November 5 against North Catholic; the start time is 8:15 p.m.
