Student Council is prepping for the big homecoming pep rally and stepping into future with grand events like CHK.
Like many other clubs and organizations, the Student Council gathered for a few general meetings these past weeks to discuss upcoming events.
Discussing these events were a variety of students, but the officers—junior president Charlotte Shultz, junior vice president Ava Sutter, junior secretary Hailey Ziegler, and junior treasurer Sophie Burd—also introduced a variety of new recruits from the recent freshman election.
Right now, the Student Council only has one upcoming week, game, and dance to focus on: homecoming.
Homecoming week is important and out Student Council is working hard to make sure the week is memorable to all.
This week’s homecoming themes consists of Jersey Day (Monday), Country vs. Country Club Day (Tuesday), Barbie Day (Wednesday), Decades Day (Thursday), and Maroon and Grey Day (Friday). Come join the themes every day this week!
Originally, the upcoming homecoming pep rally Friday was meant to be inside, but plans have changed for the worse.
“The pep rally [originally] was planned to take place in the gym, now we have to move it to the football field,” said the teacher behind Student Council, Mr. Dane Schlenke.
“We’re very excited for the pep rally; the students have been hard at work making sure that everything goes smoothly, but we’re not prepared whatsoever,” joked Mr. Schlenke.
Even though sitting in the stands in the blinding afternoon sun may not be fun, but students can look forward to upcoming Student Council events such as CHK, teacher appreciation week, and the Spring pep rally!
