Over Presidents’ Day weekend the JROTC Drill team hosted and competed in the annual Drill competition. They took first place out of the three other schools that competed, Trinity, Valley, and Butler.
The Beaver Area Drill team took first place in all the events. This was their tenth win in a row.
Cadet Abby Kohrmann said, “This team fought a tough battle to get to where they got. With having many new team members, the elder team members had a tough task of teaching and working together. I am proud of the efforts of everyone and especially those who called alongside myself: Justin [Bell], Alec [Coulter], Sarah [Gido], and Joey [Figgins]. We were proud to keep the trophy here at Beaver for a tenth year and give [Colonel Loudermilk one last drill team win before his retirement].”
The events the team completed in were Armed Platoon, Unarmed Platoon, Armed Squad, and Unarmed Squad.
In all, 24 cadets competed for Beaver Area.
