Name five countries whose names end in “stan”. Know the answer?
Looking to test your knowledge of all things trivial? Check out Trivia Night February 23 sponsored by NHS.
Community members and students are all welcome to sign up in teams to play, with a payment of $5 per team member, a four-member minimum and an eight-member maximum per team.
Fees can be paid by either cash or check. All money must be paid to the main office or NHS sponsor Mrs. Erin Bechdel by the registration deadline in order to participate. Registration ends February 17.
Teams will be tested in six categories, and depending on how the evening goes, a possible seventh category.
Some categories will be educational, and some . . . not so much, but you can’t know exactly what those categories are quite yet—the NHS quizmasters are keeping that info under wraps.
At the end of the night, the first, second, and third place teams will receive a prize for their feats of knowledge.
There will be snacks and drinks available for purchase throughout the evening, so be sure to bring along some extra cash in case you get a craving for something tasty to fuel your brain and grasp a first-place victory.
Rumor has it that last year’s champs, Mr. Dane Schlenke, Mr. Thomas Kissick, Mr. Greg Inge, and Mr. Ben Maracek aka “The Educators,” are returning to defend their title. Teachers can’t triumph over the general population again, so everyone must come together to destroy them.
Trivia Night will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Even if you think you don’t have what it takes to be a trivia champion, consider coming anyway to have some fun with your friends for a good cause. Plus who knows, there may be a secret genius in you waiting to claim the title.
Any questions? Contact Mrs. Bechdel at bechdele@basd.k12.pa.us or NHS president senior Ella Peluso at erpst02@basd.k12.pa.us with any questions.
Oh, and the ‘stan countries are Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
