The Bobcats have clinched a spot in the volleyball 2A girls playoffs!
The Bobcats now have a 11–5 season record.
Head coach Miss Suze Pollins explained that “Our season is going really well.”
Beaver Area played the Neshannock Lancers October 13 in their annual Pink Out game.
Even though the Bobcats only had to play three sets in this particular game, it was a close matchup.
Coach Pollins said, “Going into the Neshannock game we knew it was going to be a big game, and coming out with a 3-0 win was a huge turning point.”
The Bobcats went into this particular game knowing that they would have to fight for victory—and they did.
In a special pregame moment before the Pink Out game, team mom, Ms. Courtney Brown, was presented flowers by all team members and acknowledged for her ongoing fight against breast cancer.
Pink Out volleyball shirts were thrown into the crowd after the ceremony. Many parents during the game commented on this matchup having the biggest turnout of the season.
Coach Pollins explained that “the freshmen really stepped up and played well in this game.”
She stated that Jaedyn Brown, Anna Vinopal, and Kailyn Connelly were these particular freshmen.
Kailyn Connelly even was named player of the game.
In the next match up against Ellwood City the Bobcats also swept the Wolverines in a 3-0 set victory.
Sophomore Zoe Ringer was named player of the game for the Ellwood match up after tallying 1000 career assists in just her second high school season.
“I think we have a big chance of going far in the playoffs,” Coach Pollins predicted.
Multiple Bobcat volleyball players explained how the connectedness and confidence among the team has drastically improved and has helped them rack up wins.
